Year In Search 2020 video is narrated with a poem written and spoken by poet Kofi Dadzie and also featured an original song this year. The song is called “Together” and was created by Grammy-winning producer Peter Cottontale, with collaboration from Cynthia Erivo and Chance the Rapper.
The coronavirus pandemic and how it changed our lives is the main topic of this video. Also, it has honored this year’s prominent losses like basketball star Kobe Bryant. The video highlighted the question “Why” as the one we “asked” Google the most.
Top Trending Searches in 2020
Alongside the Year In Search 2020 video, Google also revealed some of its top trending searches for 2020 across multiple categories. Globally, the most searched were coronavirus and election results. The most searched actor was Tom Hanks, and the athlete Ryan Newman. The most popular and most searched game was Among Us and Parasite was the trendiest movie. Joe Biden was most searched in category: people.
Unlike global trends, in the USA, election results managed to beat coronavirus that was in second place in categories: searches and news. Also among the top 10 on the list were: Zoom, Naya Rivera, Chadwick Boseman, and PlayStation 5.
Despite all of the hardships of 2020, people stepped up to help one another. The “how to help” section of the list shows people searched for ways to help Australia fires, the Black Lives Matter movement, Yemen, Beirut, and how to help during coronavirus.
